Merseyway Shopping Centre, Stockport, is looking for young people between the ages of 12 and 16 who have the X-mas Factor.

The shopping centre is putting together a singing group to perform at its major Christmas event in November, and it is inviting local talent to perform a short song before a panel of experts on Saturday 6 October between 10am and 12noon. Local young people aged between 12 and 16 will not have to undergo the traumas of TV’s X Factor as the panel of musical judges are sure the Stockport area is bursting with young talent and they will offer nothing but encouragement to the young people. However, entrants will have to sing well as the places of just 20 will be hotly contested.

Around 20,000 people attend the Christmas lights switch-on, which this year is being held on Wednesday 14 November from 4pm, and the show, which is being staged by Key 103, will feature a whole host of performers including some surprise celebrities.

Rehearsals will be held on Saturdays throughout October and early November (tbc) and this event is a great opportunity for any young person who just loves to sing and has the confidence to appear on stage before thousands of people.

Anyone interested should just turn up for audition at Merseyway shopping centre (outdoor space) between 10am and 12noon on Saturday 6 October and sing a short song unaccompanied.
